How to upcycle a night table

Have you caught the Chalk Paint bug yet? If you are a first timer considering starting to work with Chalk Paint, I think sometimes it is easy to presume you will just know what to do, but that is not true, we all start from the same place

If you have not used Chalk Paint you may be wondering what the fuss is all about.

Some of the beauties of it are:

1) Very little preparation

2) No stripping (the furniture, not me!)

3) The ability to distress beautifully

4) The ability to stick to just about any surface

5) The low VOC and environmental creds

So let's get hands-on!

You will need:

  1. Something to protect the floor

  2. Chalk paint of your favourite colour

  3. A brush

Make sure that the furniture is clean and dry

Paint away

Let it dry

Distress the edges with sand paper (optional)

I was so pleased with the end result!

If your piece has a lot of varnish you will need to sand it beforehand. You can protect it over with varnish too.

Give it a go!
